Nate Horne - Executive Director
Nate is passionate about building relationships centered around the Gospel and grace of Jesus Christ. He has a heart for those who are broken, burned out, or feel they don't belong. Whether at youth camps, church retreats, or in the local community, he loves preaching, teaching and discipling others as they grow in the life changing power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has served on the Board of Directors for Valley Haven since 2006 and moved onto the property in 2015 to begin serving the ministry full time. Nate enjoys hiking, skeet shooting, reading good books, outdoor games of all kinds, action movies and pretty much anything with his family. He has been married to Joni Keyes Horne for 16 years and has two little boys that he treasures - Zach and Jon. Joni Horne - Accountant & Hospitality
Joni has a passion for authentic, Jesus-filled relationships and enjoys creating warm, hospitable spaces where people can truly rest, embrace grace and be themselves. You'll frequently find her listening to others share their hearts over a warm cup of coffee or a home cooked meal. Joni served as the Assistant Director of Registration at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary for many years where she provided a listening ear, a heart of compassion and administrative guidance to hundreds of men and women struggling through the realities of life while trying to pursue their callings in life and ministry. When Joni isn't crunching numbers, she loves cultivating restful places for prayer and reflection at the camp. She and Nate have been married 16 years and enjoy local festivals, bluegrass, and daily adventures with their 2 boys. David Keyes - Valley Haven Camp and Retreat Center Founder
David was the founder of Valley Haven Camp and Retreat Center and was the Director for nearly 30 years. He continues to serve at Valley Haven by keeping all of our machinery up and running, which enables the ministry to continue to serve others in the name of Jesus. In the late 1980s, David began construction on the current site, which was comprised of corn fields and trees at that time. His heart was to provide a peaceful place for others to retreat and be renewed in Jesus. Utilizing his passion and gifting in building and construction, David shaped the camp and retreat center over the years, building a number of facilities for groups to rest and enjoy community as they retreat together. David has been married to Finley for 41 years. In his spare time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, relaxing with friends and playing with his grandsons, Zachary and Jonathan. |
